Every $10 helps to grow, plant, and maintain one tree for one year. Your support will help us to restore the lowland Daintree Rainforest, protect and create wildlife corridors, and provide food plants for the endangered Cassowary and the myriad species that call the Daintree Rainforest home. The Daintree Rainforest is Australia’s largest and most biodiverse rainforest and the world’s oldest continuously evolving rainforest.
This complex tropical rainforest ecosystem is home to thousands of species of birds and other wildlife, including 30% of Australia’s frog, reptile, and marsupial species, 65% of the country’s bat and butterfly species, 18% of all bird species, and over 12,000 insect species. It represents essential habitat.
The Daintree’s floral diversity and structural complexity is unrivalled on the Australian continent and represents the origins of our more familiar ‘Australian’ flora. There are a total of 19 primitive flowering plant families on Earth, and 12 of these families are represented in the Daintree region, this is the highest concentration of these plants worldwide.
