Lot 10 Milky Pine Road, Cape Kimberley, QLD

Thanks to our valued supporters, we were able to raise the necessary funds to purchase our 12th property with transfer taking place on the 10 May 2010.
Lot 10 Milky Pine Road is in an area classified as essential Habitat for the endangered Cassowary and Bennett's Tree-kangaroo, in fact a yearling Cassowary was found maimed by a dog at a nearby Lot in March 2009.
The property provides habitat for many rare and threatened plant species and is in excellent condition having never been cleared or damaged by housing development.

Purchase of this 12th property - at 12850sqm (1.285ha) - effectively increases the size of a private nature refuge that adjoins the established nature refuge ‘Wild Wood’ owned by Perna and Greene, part of which Rainforest Rescue is revegetating.
Each property we purchase in the Daintree improves the prospects of its native inhabitants – particularly the endangered Cassowary, which not only relies on the rainforest for its survival, but upon which the rainforest itself relies; over 100 native rainforest plants are dependent on the Cassowary for dispersal and regeneration.
Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save the Daintree.
