The 11th protected property was acquired in May 2009 and named the Cassowary Corridor Wildlife Refuge.

Lot 29 Vegetation - Trees in Fan Palm

The vegetation on the property has significant numbers of Fan Palms (Licuala ramsayii) on the lower slopes with the main emergent being the Swamp mahogany (Lophostemon suaveolens) and Acacia celsa, a rainforest wattle, with many under-storey and some canopy mesophyll species, and a species of the primitive pine, genus Podocarpus. Some of the older Swamp Mahoganies are hollow and many hold large orchids.

The vegetation on the lower portion of the property includes a number of rare epiphytes on trees and there are scattered specimens of two species of shrubs listed as Rare in the Schedules of the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulation 2006, namely: Haplostichanthus ramiflorus and Rhodomyrtus effusa.

Lot 29 - Swamp Mahogany

The ridge and upper portions of the allotment have a canopy dominated by large specimens of Swamp Mahogany with scattered smaller specimens of Acacia celsa.

There are large Swamp Mahoganies supporting numerous specimens of the Bottle Brush Orchid Dendrobium smillieae. Randia audasii, listed as Rare in the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulation 2006 is also common. There is also an example of the Rare Acronychia acuminata. The property covers approximately 19,200 m2.
