Sri Lanka is known as the verdant island of life and fertility – and cycling is the ultimate way to really see, feel and experience it.
Ride for the Rainforest is your opportunity to join Krista Bernard, World Cyclist and Australian Geographic’s Young Adventurer of the Year 2000 on an amazing cycle ride across the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, to raise funds for Rainforest Rescue’s projects there.
As well as cycling through the stunning rainforests of Sri Lanka and seeing amazing temples, villages and national parks, you will visit our Sri Lanka Plant a Rainforest Project, plant trees and contribute toward the protection of this vital ecosystem. Your efforts will be rewarded when you finish in the World Heritage listed city of Galle, with time to relax on the beach, swim or surf.
To take on the Sri Lanka Cycle Challenge with Krista, simply join up and start fundraising now. For details about the trip, or to register, please visit www.inspiredadventures.com.au/ride4therainforest or email Tristanne at tristanne@inspiredadventures.com.au or phone 1300 905 188.
Apart from the incredible experience, everyone who goes on the Ride for the Rainforest Sri Lanka will help save and/or rehabilitate the precious Sri Lankan rainforests which so urgently need our help.
About Krista Bernard
Krista loves to cycle. She cycles to the shops, to the beach, and to her job at Rainforest Rescue. Last year Krista went for an extra long bike ride, all the way from London to the Himalayas! In doing so, she aimed to bring attention to climate change and the solutions offered by Rainforest Rescue through their successful rainforest protection programs worldwide. Supporters followed Krista's blog as she cycled over 8811 kilometres through 18 countries and 100% of their donations went to Rainforest Rescue.
Now Krista is planning another cycling adventure to help our rainforests and she wants YOU to join her. This one won't be quite so long (12 days) or quite so far (more like 300 km) but the route promises to be especially beautiful and inspiring and eminently achievable by anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
The Ride for the Rainforest Cycle Challenge is being coordinated by Inspired Adventures.
