The Burning Season At Tribecca Film Festival
April 22nd, 2009The Burning Season Movie is a story following a young Australian Carbon Trading entrepreneur Dorjee Sun who wants to rescue the orangutans. This is a production by Cathy Henkel and Jeff Canin and the great news is it is selling out in New York at Robert De Niro’s Tribecca Film Festival.
Helio Matahari is working with 3 teams to bring the huge wave of response to this local production into constructive action by creating Orangutan Rescue Treks.
Working as a subcontractor to both Rainforest Rescue and The Burning Season Movie and in association with Inspired Adventures, Helio is creating a tourism product to get incomes to the people who are at the forest edge and to raise funds for Rainforest Rescue’s Indonesia Orangutan Habitat for Survival Project in Sumatra.
Helio is asking at least 500 able bodied people to take up this great challenge for a wonderful adventure that will not only save the orangutans but ultimately the humans too.
Inspired adventures is a professional fundraising team who will coach participants to show the Burning Season DVD to raise funds via their own treks and for the orangutan forest. This project aims to save thousands of hectares and become a pilot project for others around the world.
