Tour the Daintree with Rainforest Rescue (6-9 June)
August 22nd, 2008Come with us into the heart of the rainforest on a four day fest for the senses in the magnificent Daintree rainforest, North Queensland.
Staying in luxury accommodation on the beaches of Cape Tribulation, visiting Rainforest Rescue’s protected Daintree properties and cruising down the Daintree River with expert local guides adds to the excitement you will experience when spotting the endangered Cassowary.
The Cassowary is the 3rd largest bird in the world, and if you can picture an emu, then you’d still be someway off. With it’s stunning blue and red neck, the cassowary has fallen prey to domestic dogs, loss of habitat and road accidents over past years, and as a result it is estimated that only 1000 remain.
Standing face to face with a Cassowary really may be a once in a lifetime opportunity, unless we protect it’s Daintree habitat.
