The Lorax speaks for the Daintree
November 2nd, 2004The Lorax speaks for the Daintree
I am the Lorax I speak for the trees.
I’m an endangered species just like the Cassowary.
More than 100 years to build the animals homes in the trees.
All of the plants producing the air we need to breathe.
420 million years of the Earth’s evolutionary history
Amoebas to mammals and the first plants out of the sea.
The King Fern, Cycads, Epiphytes and Dinosaur Trees
Protection and preservation is the only option to me
Ensuring it will be here for our children’s children to see.
In one hectare of our forest more species of tree you will see.
Than in the whole of the World’s so called “number 1″ place to be (USA).
My message is simple, it is obvious you see
If we are going to evolve we must preserve our Biodiversity.
Medicines in these forests so many possibilities.
The cures for aids and cancer are waiting to be found
So few of our tropical rainforest organisms researched.
Don’t let them be burnt into the ground.
I am the Lorax I speak for the trees.
I’m an endangered species like the musky rat kangaroo.
I ask you politely, I’ll get down on my knees.
Please listen to me, or you, may become endangered too.
So when you go back to your homes, where ever they may be.
Remember you met the Lorax, remember the beauty and Biodiversity.
Show everyone your videos, your photos, your home made DVD’s.
And tell them of your experience in the Daintree forest proudly.
But most importantly of all, care for your environment locally.
And you to, a Lorax will be.
