Staff Profiles
Kelvin Davies, CEO & Founding Director
Kelvin has been working for the protection of rainforests and their
biodiversity since 1990 when he was an active member of the Melbourne
Rainforest Action Group. In the following decade he was employed by some of
Australia's largest conservation organisations. In 1998 he commenced working
on the development of Rainforest Rescue to fulfil his vision for the
protection of rainforests both in Australia and internationally. He is a
founding member of the Board of Directors and the CEO. Kelvin is a member of
the Fundraising Institute of Australia.
Grant Binns, CPA, Acting Managing Director
Grant is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) with over 24 years experiences working in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) with merit from the University of Wollongong. In 2009 Grant completed the requirements for a public practice certificate with CPA Australia and established his own accounting practice Byron Accounting Solutions Ltd which serves not-for-profit and commercial micro-business clients in the Northern Rivers. Grant also serves as a Director/Company Secretary and Finance Officer for the Climate First Foundation on a pro-bono basis.
Erryn Stephens, Fundraising & Communications Manager
Erryn is responsible for the development and management of fundraising
programs that will provide the necessary funding to achieve the
organisation's conservation objectives. A passionate fundraiser,
Erryn has over 9 years experience working in the fundraising sector and has
been an active member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia
since 2005.
Alice Moffett, Conservation Projects Manager
Alice provides management of, and engagement with, Rainforest Rescue's conservation projects. She has previous experience working in capacity building with various communities in Australia and Indonesia to achieve social justice and environmental sustainability encompassing community initiatives to policy change. Alice is also a qualified rainforest regenerator.
Kathleen Barrett, Office Manager
Kathleen’s role is to support Rainforest Rescue’s staff and Board
members, and manage office systems and equipment. She came to Rainforest
Rescue after a long career as a HR practitioner, researcher and
consultant, in Australia, USA and East Timor. She has masters degrees
in arts, and in business.
Kaley Morrissey, Fundraising Administrator
Kaley comes to Rainforest Rescue from a long history in the not-for-profit sector with a background in finance and administration, as well as experience in event organising and editing industry publications. Kaley has a degree in Law & Society and several industry qualifications.
Sarah Crawford, Ongoing Giving Administrator
Sarah has been a passionate member and volunteer with numerous environmental groups for over 15 years. She has several years experience in administration roles as well as holding a Bachelor of Interior Design. Her role with Rainforest Rescue involves administering the Ongoing Giving Program as well as providing support to fundraising and finance staff and assisting with design communications.
Paul Medici, Project Development, US & UK
Paul spent over 10 years in the Investment arena before taking his for-profit experience over to the non-profit sector. Paul has been working to help save Australia's rainforests and wildlife since 2007 and has spent a good amount of time in Australia working at project sites as well as attending conservation meetings. Paul is advancing Rainforest Rescue's mission in the US & UK
Sean O’Shannessy, Online Media Manager
Sean manages the complex of online media chanels that a modern growing NGO requires. He has been working as an environmental activist since 1990 and began designing online media for The Earth in 1997. Community outreach, media and fundraising for the environment have been a key focus of his professional life.
After having played his part in the successes of Greenpeace, The Wilderness Society and The North East Forest Alliance, Sean is proud to be able to carry on his work fostering awareness and recruiting support for protecting threatened ecosystems with Rainforest Rescue.
